Have you ever dreamed of having a garden that looks as stunning in the moonlight as it does in the daylight? Say no more! I have got you covered with these wonderful but practical tips on how to design a moon garden.

Start With a Dark Backdrop

The key to any great moon garden is to have a dark backdrop. You want to create a contrast that will allow the white flowers and bright foliage to shine in the moonlight. If you don't have any walls or fences nearby, consider painting a few garden bricks or rocks with black paint. But if painting is not an option, make sure you position your garden where its darkest. Somewhere far away from all those night lights and streetlights.

Designate a Scent Garden

Most of us know that humans are highly visual creatures, but did you know that the sense of smell plays a vital role in experiencing a gardens beauty? A moon garden is a perfect place to incorporate fragrant plants like lavender, jasmine, and roses. Also, don't forget to add in some fresh herbs like mint and sage. Oh, and if you have a cat. be sure to include a catnip plant! Your feline friends will make great company and add to the gardens charm.

Invest In Reflective Elements

As much as we would like the moon to shine its full light all the time, that is not possible. However, you can get some of that shimmering light by adding reflective elements, like mirrors, water elements, and silver accents, to your garden. It's a sure way to ensure your garden is still visible while the moon is away. Plus, some reflective objects can also scare off unwanted garden critters, for instance raccoons.

Use Glowing Elements

The reason we call it a moon garden is that it supposed to look great under the moonlight. Why not add some light elements that look exceptionally charming when the moon is out? Glow-in-the-dark stones, fireflies, and lanterns can bring such a magical and ethereal feel to the garden. Make sure you place the light elements strategically to appreciate the beauty of each element.

Don't Forget Fun Garden Ornaments

Have some fun by adding garden ornaments like wind chimes, gnomes, fairies, or anything else that tickles your fancy. But don't overdo it! Keep in mind that the gardens attention should be drawn to the beautiful plants, not the ornaments. Plus, too many garden gnomes might confuse them for a small community that's taking over their previous habitat!

Thats It! I hope these fun ideas have been helpful. Creating a moon garden is a fantastic way to enjoy the beauty of nature at different times of the day. And who knows you might even have some nocturnal visitors who can't resist the scents and glowing effects of your garden. Just keep some treats hidden nearby and you'll be happy to make new friends.
